Bright Side Oysters is a sustainable oyster farm located in Grand Isle Louisiana. We grow oysters in floating cages which allows us to create a beautiful and consistent product year round without ever having to dredge the bottom.

Hurricane Zeta hit on October 28th 2020 as a category 3 and basically hit us dead on. We lost 60-70% of all of our cages and oysters in the matter of just a few hours. And we came back strong primarily because of many many generous donations made to a go fund me campaign that we set up. THEN….. Hurricane Ida hit on August 29th 2021 as a Cat 5 hurricane and again we were pretty much hit dead on and guess what?!? Yep, we got screwed, again…. We did not loose as much equipment, but because we couldn’t get down to the island for over a week 70-80% of our oysters died because they got smothered in the mud and we lost our boat. But things are looking up! We got a few grants and have had a few good years so the farm is bigger than ever, growth comes with lots of challenges but we are facing them head on, never backing down!
